DAN COLLINS: CLOWNING FOR GROWN-UPS!

Clown is not a character, a technique, face paint or big shoes. It is pleasure, play, openness and optimism. It is a state that sharpens your connection with an audience.

 

INTRODUCTION TO CLOWN: FULL DAY WORKSHOP

What is a clown and what do they do?

 

In this introductory workshop, Dan will introduce some of the fundamentals of clown, including curiosity, optimism, and failure.

 

Learn how to engage with your audience with sensitivity, embracing whatever may come, and finding new games in every interaction.

 

Our goal is to provide a beneficial learning experience for all who attend, helping each individual on the journey to find their unique comedy.

 

Suitable for people of all ages and backgrounds, but especially those who want to have fun on stage.

 

During this workshop we will be playing games to exercise our clown muscles, so loose clothes and comfortable shoes are recommended, as well as a bottle of water to stay hydrated. Please bring a pen and paper to take notes. There will be a break at half time for lunch, and comfort breaks between.

CLOWN FOR GROWN UPS: WEEKLY SESSIONS

 

Weekly sessions for clowns, actors, comedians, and improvisers to come together and play.

 

A little bit of theory, a whole lot of fun.

 

Each workshop explores a different aspect of clown, borrowing from contemporary and classic texts.

 

Explorations include:

 

• Play

• Dance

• Voice

• Props

• Teamwork

• Performance

Price: £15.00 (£75.00 for the full 6 weeks)
