New TUTOR Announcement

We are thrilled at EAS to welcome our new FAMILY MEMBER, Gemma Stroyan, who will be leading our Stage 2 Course from next term!

Gemma is an Edinburgh based actress with extensive experience across stage, screen and voiceovers.

 

Her Credits include ; 

Voiceovers for STV weather, Flamingoland and Visit Blackpool (all STV, 2019) and Visit Scotland and ScotBlood for Radio. Last year Gemma appeared in the Slimfast TV Commercial and upcoming feature film, Marionette as well as reading in for Caitriona Balfe at the Series 4 readthrough of Outlander opposite Sam Heughan. Also in 2018 Gemma loved devising and touring 'Woven Bones', a collaborative, physical piece about Scottish soldiers from the battle of Dunbar, with Cap-A-Pie theatre company. 

She is the voice of A.I Sciron in award nominated Series 1 and this year's Series 2 of CBBC's Last Commanders, and last year was the voice of the Female Adventurer in Bafta-awarded game, Divinity: Original Sin 2. 

Gemma toured the UK as DS Bella Moy opposite Shane Richie in Peter James' Not Dead Enough, having previously understudied Tina Hobley in the lead role of Dead Simple in 2015. Further stage credits include Twelfth Night, As You Like It and An Ideal Husband, all with Butterfly Theatre Company (site specific). She was nominated for an Off West End award as Emilia in 'Othello' at the Riverside Studios, London.


She is also a writer and trained journalist, with a passion for real-life storytelling and spoken word. Her play The Jam Diaries, featured as a work-in-progress at Summerhall in 2016. She is experienced in teaching acting workshops that focus on being responsive and connected to our fellow actors, the world around us and our imagined circumstances.


A huge dog lover who loooves a cup of tea (so much so she has a tattoo of one) she is most importantly, delighted to be joining EAS (where she remembers attending MANY MOONS ago) and can't wait to meet everyone.
